poem by majida sanwari
Crying and yelling we come in this world,
Our mothers telling us that we are no less than emeralds.
Feeding and caressing us all day,
Always protecting us come what may.
When falling sick, she nursed us for long nights,
Medicating and praying so that we feel alright.
From an infant to a child we grow, and pretend as if everything we know.
Questions we always ask her of this and that,
And patiently she answers us with a pat.
She gets her strength from our smile,
For us she can walk a whole mile.
Her love is eternal and purely selfless,
How deep she loves me I may never guess.
Grieving with us in our grief,
Telling us that happiness awaits us after this sorrow brief.
Over our tears she makes us laugh,
Turning our sorrows into half.
Her lap is the safest place to lay our head,
Even in the worst condition, its the softest bed.
Can’t imagine life without her,
She is the Visible God- She is Mother.
